A bill for an act
relating to health insurance; requiring all health plans to provide coverage for
mental health services; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 62A; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 62A.152.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin This section applies to all health plans as defined
in section 62A.011, that cover medical services and inpatient hospitalization.

new text begin Every health plan in subdivision 1 must provide
coverage for mental health services as covered under chapter 256B.

new text begin This section is effective for any policy, plan, certificate, or
contract issued or renewed after January 1, 2010.
