  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the PATH program. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $300,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of human services for each year of the biennium 
  1.8   beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2003.  This 
  1.9   appropriation shall be added to the base level funding for the 
  1.10  PATH program each biennium.  This additional appropriation is to 
  1.11  be spent in Hennepin and Ramsey counties and shall be used for 
  1.12  the following purposes: 
  1.13     (1) for psychiatrists to provide psychiatric care to 
  1.14  individuals living in homeless shelters or on the streets; and 
  1.15     (2) for other mental health workers to provide outreach for 
  1.16  the unsheltered homeless.
