relating to natural resources; appropriating money for grants to municipalities
for water quality permit compliance.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin NPDES/SDS PERMIT COMPLIANCE GRANTS.

new text begin $....... is appropriated from the clean water fund to the commissioner of the Pollution
Control Agency for grants to local units of government to implement and comply with
national pollutant discharge elimination system (NPDES) and state disposal system
(SDS) permit requirements for road and bridge construction projects in order to protect
water quality in lakes, rivers, and streams and to protect groundwater from degradation,
including the implementation of best management practices and enhanced runoff controls.
