  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to children; appropriating money for the lead 
  1.3             hazard reduction project. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [LEAD HAZARD REDUCTION PROJECT.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND 
  1.7   LEARNING.] The sums indicated in this section are appropriated 
  1.8   from the general fund to the department of children, families, 
  1.9   and learning for the fiscal years designated. 
  1.10     Subd. 2.  [LEAD HAZARD REDUCTION PROJECT.] For a grant to a 
  1.11  nonprofit organization currently operating the CLEARCorps lead 
  1.12  hazard reduction project: 
  1.13       $500,000     .....     2002 
  1.14       $500,000     .....     2003 
  1.15     Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is 
  1.16  available in the second year. 
  1.17     The grant must be used to continue the lead hazard 
  1.18  reduction project and reduce and prevent lead poisoning in 
  1.19  Minnesota's children.  The grant may be used as a match for 
  1.20  federal funds to reduce lead hazards.
