  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transportation; appropriating money for 
  1.3             grants to towns to pay expenses of clearing snow from 
  1.4             town roads. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $....... is appropriated to the commissioner of 
  1.8   transportation from the general fund for grants to towns to pay 
  1.9   expenses related to clearing snow from town roads during the 
  1.10  winter of 2000-2001.  A town, to be eligible for a grant, must: 
  1.11     (1) apply for assistance to the commissioner on or before 
  1.12  the date specified by the commissioner for receipt of 
  1.13  applications; 
  1.14     (2) document to the commissioner unreimbursed costs in 
  1.15  excess of budgeted amounts incurred by the town related to 
  1.16  clearing snow from town roads during the winter of 2000-2001; 
  1.17  and 
  1.18     (3) meet other criteria for eligibility established by the 
  1.19  commissioner. 
  1.20     This appropriation is available for the 2002-2003 biennium.
