  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing the commissioner 
  1.3             of natural resources to enter into a lease of land at 
  1.4             Fort Snelling. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [LEASE OF RECREATION LAND.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the commissioner 
  1.8   of natural resources may enter into a 30-year lease with the 
  1.9   Minneapolis park and recreation board for the golf course and 
  1.10  polo grounds at Fort Snelling. 
  1.11     The land to be leased shall be used for recreation purposes 
  1.12  in the development of athletic fields connected with the 
  1.13  property.  The commissioner of natural resources is not 
  1.14  obligated to make improvements on the leased property. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
