1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to education; authorizing funding for 1.3 establishing a voluntary accreditation program to 1.4 assist school districts in providing optimal 1.5 educational support services; appropriating money. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. [FIVE STAR SCHOOL ACCREDITATION PROGRAM.] 1.8 The following sums are appropriated from the general fund 1.9 to the department of children, families, and learning in the 1.10 fiscal years designated for establishing a voluntary 1.11 accreditation program to assist school districts and other 1.12 education organizations in providing optimal educational support 1.13 services and other operational efforts in the areas of physical 1.14 learning environment, community involvement, capital asset 1.15 management, support services, and fiscal, demographic and 1.16 program statistics by performing audits, reports, and program 1.17 advocacy: 1.18 $995,000 2000 1.19 $275,000 2001 1.20 Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is 1.21 available in the second year. 1.22 Sec. 2. [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 1.23 Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
