  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to water; approving the granting of a permit 
  1.3             for the consumptive use of groundwater pursuant to 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes, section 103G.265, subdivision 3.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CONSUMPTIVE USE OF GROUNDWATER.] 
  1.7      Pursuant to the requirements of Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.8   103G.265, subdivision 3, the legislature hereby approves the 
  1.9   granting of a permit by the commissioner of natural resources to 
  1.10  the metropolitan council for the consumptive use of more than 
  1.11  2,000,000 gallons of water per day average in a 30-day period 
  1.12  for the operation of a permanent groundwater relief system at 
  1.13  the Blue Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Scott county.
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective on the day following final enactment.
