  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the Minnesota Association of Resource Conservation and 
  1.4             Development. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $500,000 is appropriated from the general fund for the 
  1.8   biennium to the department of trade and economic development for 
  1.9   grants to the Minnesota Association of Resource Conservation and 
  1.10  Development and its eight councils.  $50,000 each year of the 
  1.11  biennium is for the Minnesota Association of Resource 
  1.12  Conservation and Development, and $25,000 each year of the 
  1.13  biennium is for each of the eight resource conservation and 
  1.14  development councils.  The appropriation for each council must 
  1.15  use at least 50 percent of the funding as seed money for 
  1.16  projects.  The remaining money for each council may be used for 
  1.17  equipment, professional services, training, and public 
  1.18  information costs.  This appropriation is added to the 
  1.19  department's base.
