  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to housing; providing funding for housing in 
  1.3             the city of St. Paul; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; CITY OF ST. PAUL.] 
  1.6      $3,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund, in each 
  1.7   year of the biennium ending June 30, 2001, for transfer to the 
  1.8   housing development fund for grants to the city of St. Paul.  
  1.9   The grants shall be used for housing activities authorized by 
  1.10  the community rehabilitation program under Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.11  section 462A.206. 
  1.12     Each year's appropriation is contingent upon demonstration 
  1.13  to the commissioner of the housing finance agency of $3,000,000 
  1.14  in city of St. Paul matching funds to match that year's 
  1.15  appropriation.  The matching funds must be a new increased 
  1.16  allocation of money for the purposes of the grant.
