A bill for an act
relating to environment; requiring certain recipients of money appropriated from
the environment and natural resources trust fund to perform criminal background
checks on employees, volunteers, and contractors that work with children; proposing
coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 116P.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin As part of the work plan required by section 116P.05, subdivision 2, a recipient of an
appropriation from the trust fund that is a children's service provider, as defined in section
299C.61, subdivision 5, must certify to the commission that it performs criminal background
checks on all employees, contractors, and volunteers that have or may have access to a child
to whom the recipient provides children's services.
