  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to occupations and professions; requiring the 
  1.3             board of electricity to adopt rules authorizing 
  1.4             special licenses for sign contractors; proposing 
  1.5             coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 326. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [326.2422] [SIGN CONTRACTOR LICENSE.] 
  1.8      No later than ......., the board shall adopt rules allowing 
  1.9   a sign contractor to qualify as a special electrician for the 
  1.10  purpose of doing electrical work relating to the installation of 
  1.11  signs.  The rules must be no more stringent than necessary to 
  1.12  ensure basic safety and competence.
