  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to drivers' licenses; requiring commissioner 
  1.3             of public safety to amend Minnesota Rules to provide 
  1.4             for reissuance of driver's license eight weeks after 
  1.5             its cancellation due to diabetes-related driving 
  1.6             episode. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [RULE CHANGE.] 
  1.9      The commissioner of public safety shall amend Minnesota 
  1.10  Rules, part 7410.2610, so that the commissioner must reissue or 
  1.11  reinstate the driver's license of a person with insulin-treated 
  1.12  diabetes mellitus, following cancellation of the license due to 
  1.13  a driving-related episode, eight weeks after the date of the 
  1.14  episode, when the conditions of Minnesota Rules, part 7410.2610, 
  1.15  subpart 6, are met.  The commissioner shall comply with 
  1.16  Minnesota Statutes, section 14.389, in adopting the amendment.
