A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; appropriating money for the Sustainable Agriculture Project
in northeastern Minnesota.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin NORTHEAST MINNESOTA AGRICULTURE RECLAMATION ACT.

new text begin (a) $265,000 in fiscal year 2018 and $265,000 in fiscal year 2019 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of agriculture for transfer to the Board of Regents of
the University of Minnesota for the Sustainable Agriculture Project at the University of
Minnesota, Duluth, to train young people and others who are interested in sustainable
agriculture and regional food systems and to generate economic development, jobs, and
access to healthier foods in rural northeastern Minnesota. The base for fiscal year 2023 is
$0.
