  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to local government; exempting certain 
  1.3             building projects from the requirement to employ an 
  1.4             architect; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 
  1.5             326.03, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 326.03, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2a.  [LOCAL GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS UNDER 
  1.10  $150,000.] Sections 326.02 to 326.15 do not prevent a person 
  1.11  other than an architect from planning, designing, or supervising 
  1.12  the construction of a building, estimated to cost less than 
  1.13  $150,000, to be owned by a county, city, town, or school 
  1.14  district.
