A bill for an act
relating to transportation; bridges; limiting bridge engineering, design, and
construction costs in smaller cities; amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section
174.50, subdivision 6b.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 174.50, subdivision 6b, is amended to read:


Subd. 6b.

cities.

the procedures and criteria established under subdivisions 5 and 6, and may be used for

new text begin (b) No home rule charter or statutory city receiving a grant under paragraph (a) shall
be required to pay more than $10,000 for engineering services and $10,000 for construction
to repair or replace an existing bridge. If a bridge rehabilitation or replacement requires
more than $10,000 in engineering services or $10,000 in construction, the additional costs
shall be paid from the state transportation fund created in subdivision 2.
