  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to real estate; providing for the electronic 
  1.3             filing of real estate documents; implementing the work 
  1.4             plan of the task force; providing support; 
  1.5             appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [WORK PLAN APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.8      (a) $950,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   legislative coordinating commission, to be made available to the 
  1.10  real estate task force established in accordance with Laws 2000, 
  1.11  chapter 391, for the expenses of the task force in carrying out 
  1.12  the work plan as described in the January 15, 2001, task force 
  1.13  report to the legislature.  This appropriation is available 
  1.14  until June 30, 2003, and is to be administered at the direction 
  1.15  of the chair of the task force, subject to the prior approval of 
  1.16  the task force. 
  1.17     (b) $500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.18  legislative coordinating commission, to be made available to the 
  1.19  task force for the development and implementation of pilot 
  1.20  electronic real estate projects in diverse counties as described 
  1.21  in the January 15, 2001, task force report to the legislature.  
  1.22  This appropriation is available until June 30, 2003. 
  1.23     Sec. 2.  [LEGISLATIVE COORDINATING COMMISSION; DUTIES; 
  1.24  APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.25     (a) The task force may contract with the legislative 
  2.1   coordinating commission for the provision of administrative 
  2.2   services to, the preparation of requests for proposal, or the 
  2.3   disbursement of funds for the payment of vendors, salaries, and 
  2.4   other expenses of the task force. 
  2.5      (b) $50,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  2.6   legislative coordinating commission for the purpose of 
  2.7   subdivision 1. 
  2.8      Sec. 3.  [DONATIONS.] 
  2.9      The task force may accept donations of money or resources, 
  2.10  including loaned employees or other services, by agreement with 
  2.11  a person, natural or artificial, or a political subdivision.  
  2.12  The agreement must specifically provide that the donations are 
  2.13  under the sole control of the task force. 
  2.14     Sec. 4.  [LEGISLATIVE AND EXECUTIVE BRANCH ASSISTANCE.] 
  2.15     Whenever possible, legislative employees and agencies in 
  2.16  the executive branch shall assist the task force in carrying out 
  2.17  its duties.
