A bill for an act
relating to homelessness; requiring certain data for the Homeless Management
Information System.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Effective July 1, 2009, organizations that provide homeless services that are required
to provide data to the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) are required
to only provide the universal data elements as specified in the 68 Fed. Reg. 43,430 and
43,438 to 43,439 (proposed July 22, 2003). The organizations have the option to provide
more data, however state funds cannot be withheld if the organization elects to only
provide the universal data elements through the HMIS system.
