A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; appropriating money for grants to the Red River
Basin Commission.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; RED RIVER BASIN COMMISSION GRANTS.

new text begin $100,000 in fiscal year 2012 and $100,000 in fiscal year 2013 are appropriated
from the general fund to the Board of Water and Soil Resources for grants to the Red
River Basin Commission to match funding from North Dakota and Manitoba for advance
flood mitigation, water quality and supply, and integrating water and natural resource
management in the Red River of the North basin. The Red River Basin Commission
shall submit a report on the expenditure of these funds to the Board of Water and Soil
Resources and to the chairs of the legislative committees and divisions with jurisdiction
over environment and natural resources policy and finance by February 15, 2013.
