  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; clarifying the definition of 
  1.3             agricultural land; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.4             section 97B.001, subdivision 1.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 97B.001, 
  1.7   subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [AGRICULTURAL LAND DEFINITION.] For 
  1.9   purposes of this section, "agricultural land" means land: 
  1.10     (1) that is plowed or tilled; 
  1.11     (2) that has standing crops or crop residues; or 
  1.12     (3) within a maintained fence for enclosing domestic 
  1.13  livestock; 
  1.14     (4) that is enrolled in a federal or state program for the 
  1.15  conservation of land, soil, or wildlife; or 
  1.16     (5) that is planted to short rotation woody crops as 
  1.17  defined in section 41B.048, subdivision 4.
