A bill for an act
relating to transportation; mass transit; establishing skyway access requirements
for the Bloomington stations on the Hiawatha Corridor light rail transit line.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

STATION ACCESSIBILITY.

new text begin (a) For purposes of this section:

new text begin (1) "council" has the meaning given in Minnesota Statutes, section 473.121,
subdivision 3; and

new text begin (2) "pedestrian skyway system" has the meaning given in Minnesota Statutes,
section 469.125, subdivision 4.

new text begin (b) Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, for the Bloomington Central Station
and the 28th Avenue Station on the Hiawatha Corridor light rail transit line, the council
shall construct or establish access to a pedestrian skyway system. The council shall ensure
that public access to the pedestrian skyway system is provided by an elevator located
at the site of the station.
