  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing commissioner of 
  1.3             human services to sell certain surplus state land to 
  1.4             the Bloomington housing and redevelopment authority. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE.] 
  1.7      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 94.09 to 
  1.8   94.16, the commissioner of human services, through the 
  1.9   commissioner of administration, may sell by private sale, lands 
  1.10  described in paragraph (b), including improvements located 
  1.11  thereon, to the housing and redevelopment authority in and for 
  1.12  the city of Bloomington upon terms agreeable to the parties.  
  1.13  The conveyance must be in a form approved by the attorney 
  1.14  general. 
  1.15     (b) The land that may be sold is described as: 
  1.16     The West 100 feet of the East 215 feet of the West one-half 
  1.17     of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of the 
  1.18     Southwest Quarter of Section 20, Township 27, Range 24, 
  1.19     Hennepin county, Minnesota, lying North of the South 437 
  1.20     feet thereof and South of County Road No. 1 (also known as 
  1.21     Old Shakopee Road). 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [USE OF PROCEEDS.] 
  1.23     Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 94.09 to 
  1.24  94.16, the proceeds of the sale shall not be deposited in the 
  1.25  general fund.  The commissioner of human services, through the 
  2.1   commissioner of administration, shall use the proceeds of the 
  2.2   sale described in section 1 to purchase replacement property. 
  2.3      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.4      Sections 1 to 3 are effective the day following final 
  2.5   enactment.
