A bill for an act
relating to game and fish; creating an endowment account to promote fishing
opportunities; appropriating money; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 97C.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

(a) To ensure that fishing opportunities in the state are adequately promoted for
present and future generations, a fishing opportunities endowment account is established
in the game and fish fund.

(b) The commissioner shall accept private contributions to promote fishing
opportunities. Money transferred under section 2 and any private contributions shall be
credited to the endowment account. The principal deposited in the endowment account
shall be retained in the account.

(c) The interest earned on the principal of the endowment account is appropriated
to the commissioner for grants to Let's Go Fishing of Minnesota to promote fishing
opportunities in the state.

The commissioner of finance shall transfer $3,500,000 from the game and fish fund
to the fishing opportunities endowment account.
