  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to charitable organizations; requiring annual 
  1.3             reports to include information on funding received 
  1.4             from government agencies; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             1998, section 309.53, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 309.53, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2a.  [GOVERNMENT REVENUE.] The annual report required 
  1.10  by this section must list the amount of revenue the charitable 
  1.11  organization received from federal, state, and local government 
  1.12  agencies during the period covered by the report.  For each 
  1.13  government agency that was a revenue source for the 
  1.14  organization, the report must indicate the amount received and 
  1.15  the type of services or products provided with the government 
  1.16  funds. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999, and applies to a 
  1.19  charitable organization's reporting years beginning on or after 
  1.20  that date.
