1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to children; appropriating money from the 1.3 special revenue fund for matching chemical abuse 1.4 prevention grants through a collaborative organization. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. [APPROPRIATION.] 1.7 Subdivision 1. [DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND 1.8 LEARNING.] The sums indicated in this section are appropriated 1.9 from the general fund to the department of children, families, 1.10 and learning for the fiscal years designated. 1.11 Subd. 2. [ALCOHOL-IMPAIRED DRIVER.] (a) For grants with 1.12 funds received under Minnesota Statutes, section 171.29, 1.13 subdivision 2, paragraph (b), clause (4): 1.14 $200,000 ..... 2000 1.15 $200,000 ..... 2001 1.16 (b) These appropriations are from the alcohol-impaired 1.17 driver account of the special revenue fund to the department of 1.18 children, families, and learning for chemical abuse prevention 1.19 grants. 1.20 (c) Up to $200,000 each year may be used for chemical abuse 1.21 prevention grants to provide a match for at least two community 1.22 collaborative projects for children and youth developed by a 1.23 regional organization established under Minnesota Statutes. 1.24 The regional organization must include a broad 1.25 cross-section of public and private sector community 2.1 representatives to address specific community needs of children 2.2 and youth. A regional organization that receives a grant must 2.3 provide a two-to-one match of nonstate dollars.
