  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to community development; providing for a 
  1.3             community program of job counseling, job retention, 
  1.4             and job mentoring; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $350,000 in fiscal year 2000 and $350,000 in fiscal year 
  1.8   2001 is appropriated to the commissioner of economic security 
  1.9   for grants to the St. Paul Urban League for the NeighborLink 
  1.10  program of job counseling, mentoring, and retention for 
  1.11  individuals not participating in the Minnesota family investment 
  1.12  program.  The St. Paul Urban League must report to the 
  1.13  commissioner by December 31, 2000 and 2001, on the results of 
  1.14  the program.  The report must provide detail on the number of 
  1.15  individuals placed, mentored, counseled, and retained, and on 
  1.16  the cost per program client for the services provided.  This 
  1.17  information must be provided for each organization providing 
  1.18  services in the NeighborLink program.
