  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; appropriating money for 
  1.3             regional training sites for HIV/STI education in 
  1.4             schools. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $850,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2002 from the 
  1.8   general fund to the department of children, families, and 
  1.9   learning for regional training sites for HIV/STI education in 
  1.10  schools established under Laws 1997, First Special Session 
  1.11  chapter 4, article 6, section 18.  This appropriation shall be 
  1.12  added to the agency's base budget.  Of this amount, $500,000 
  1.13  must be used for continued development of the existing sites; 
  1.14  $100,000 for adding one additional training site in the 
  1.15  Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area; $100,000 to contract 
  1.16  with a community-based organization for coordination and 
  1.17  technical assistance for the sites; and $50,000 for department 
  1.18  of children, families, and learning evaluation and contract 
  1.19  management services.  This appropriation is available until June 
  1.20  30, 2003.
