  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $....... is appropriated from the general fund in fiscal 
  1.7   year 2002 to the commissioner of trade and economic development 
  1.8   for grants to plan and promote the 2004 Grand Excursion.  Grants 
  1.9   may be made to state agencies and local units of government and 
  1.10  state or local nonprofit entities.  A local match may be 
  1.11  required.  This appropriation is available until expended.
