A bill for an act
relating to workforce development; appropriating money to Big Brothers Big
Sisters for youth programming.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2024 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2025 are appropriated from the
workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development
for a grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities to provide disadvantaged
youth ages 12 to 21 with job-seeking skills, connections to job training and education
opportunities, and mentorship while exploring careers. The grant shall serve youth in the
Big Brothers Big Sisters chapters in the Twin Cities, central Minnesota, and southern
Minnesota. This is a onetime appropriation.
