1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to child labor; prohibiting the employment of 1.3 minors without adult supervision; proposing coding for 1.4 new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 181A. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. [181A.045] [SUPERVISION OF MINOR EMPLOYEES.] 1.7 Subdivision 1. [GENERALLY.] No minor under the age of 18 1.8 shall be permitted to work after 6:00 p.m. or before 6:00 a.m. 1.9 unless the minor is supervised by a person who: 1.10 (1) is physically present on the premises where the minor 1.11 is working; 1.12 (2) is not a minor; and 1.13 (3) is either the employer or another employee of the 1.14 employer. 1.15 Subd. 2. [EXCEPTION FOR PREMISES WITH OUTSIDE 1.16 SECURITY.] Subdivision 1 does not apply to a minor working at an 1.17 establishment where security personnel are present and are 1.18 responsible for ensuring the safety of employees and patrons.
