  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to environment; providing funding for the St. 
  1.3             George community wastewater treatment system in 
  1.4             Nicollet county; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [ST. GEORGE COMMUNITY WASTEWATER TREATMENT 
  1.7   SYSTEM; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $230,000 in fiscal year 2002 is appropriated from the 
  1.9   general fund to the public facilities authority to reimburse the 
  1.10  town of West Newton in Nicollet county for costs the town has 
  1.11  incurred in construction of the St. George community wastewater 
  1.12  treatment system using wetlands to treat wastewater from 23 
  1.13  properties.  The reimbursement is for the cost of installing 
  1.14  additional treatment components that were not part of the 
  1.15  originally planned project and resulted in excessive costs to 
  1.16  homeowners.  The reimbursement must be used to reduce the bonded 
  1.17  indebtedness of the town of West Newton for the St. George 
  1.18  community wastewater treatment system.
