  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; increasing funding for 
  1.3             crisis nurseries; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.6      $1,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of human services for the biennium beginning July 
  1.8   1, 1999, to develop new crisis nurseries.  Preference must be 
  1.9   given to crisis nursery grantees under Laws 1998, chapter 407, 
  1.10  article 1. 
  1.11     $1,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.12  commissioner of human services for the biennium beginning July 
  1.13  1, 1999, to expand existing crisis nursery services in an effort 
  1.14  to meet the increased demand for these services.
