  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to sales and use tax; providing an exemption 
  1.3             for an aircraft repair facility; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 2002, section 297A.71, subdivision 10. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 297A.71, 
  1.7   subdivision 10, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 10.  [AIRCRAFT HEAVY MAINTENANCE FACILITY.] 
  1.9   Materials, equipment, and supplies used or consumed in 
  1.10  constructing a heavy maintenance facility for aircraft that is 
  1.11  to be owned by the state of Minnesota or one of its political 
  1.12  subdivisions and leased by an airline company, an aircraft 
  1.13  repair company, or an aircraft engine repair facility described 
  1.14  in section 116R.02, subdivision 6, are exempt.  Except for 
  1.15  equipment owned or leased by a contractor, all machinery, 
  1.16  equipment, and tools necessary to the construction and equipping 
  1.17  of that facility those facilities in order to provide those 
  1.18  services are also exempt. 
  1.19     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective for sales and 
  1.20  purchases made on or after July 1, 2003.
