A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds;
appropriating money for a grant to Dawson-Boyd school district for a geothermal
heating system.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Appropriation. new text end

new text begin $2,330,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
fund to the commissioner of education for a grant to Independent School District No. 378,
Dawson-Boyd, to predesign, design, acquire, construct, and install a geothermal heating
system for the school complex in Dawson. The project includes asbestos abatement,
installation of a sprinkler system in unprotected areas of the school complex, and fresh
air ventilation upgrades.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in subdivision 1 from
the bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance shall sell and issue bonds of the
state in an amount up to $2,330,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
