A bill for an act
relating to state lands; authorizing private sale of certain consolidated
conservation lands.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PRIVATE SALE OF CONSOLIDATED CONSERVATION LAND;
MARSHALL COUNTY.

new text begin (a) Notwithstanding the classification and public sale provisions of Minnesota
Statutes, chapters 84A, 97A, and 282, Marshall County may sell by private sale to the
adjoining landowner the consolidated conservation lands that are described in paragraph
(c).

new text begin (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the attorney general. The
attorney general may make necessary changes to the legal description to correct errors
and ensure accuracy. The consideration for the conveyance must be for no less than the
appraised value of the land and timber and survey costs. Proceeds shall be disposed of
according to Minnesota Statutes, chapter 84A.

new text begin (c) The land to be sold is in Marshall County and is described as:

new text begin (1) starting on the northeast corner of the Southeast Quarter, a strip of land 33 feet
wide extending to the South to a point 440 feet North of the southeast corner of the
Southeast Quarter of Section 34, Township 156 North, Range 40 West;

new text begin (2) starting at the northwest corner of the Southeast Quarter, a strip of land 33 feet
wide extending to the East to a point 880 feet West of the northeast corner of the Southeast
Quarter of Section 34, Township 156 North, Range 40 West;

new text begin (3) starting at the northwest corner of the South Half of the Southwest Quarter a
strip of land 33 feet wide extending to the East to a point 1,320 feet East of the northwest
corner of the Southwest Quarter of Section 34, Township 156 North, Range 40 West; and

new text begin (4) a strip of land 33 feet wide on the South side of the Northeast Quarter of the
Northeast Quarter of Section 2, Township 155 North, 40 West.

new text begin (d) The land was recently surveyed and property boundaries corrected. The land to
be conveyed contains drainage ditches of the adjoining landowner and the public interest
would be best served if the land was returned to private ownership.
