  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to gambling; creating adolescent compulsive 
  1.3             gambling grant; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [TRANSFER.] 
  1.6      The director of the state lottery shall transfer $175,000 
  1.7   each year of the biennium from the lottery prize fund created 
  1.8   under Minnesota Statutes, section 349A.10, to the general fund. 
  1.9      Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION; ADOLESCENT COMPULSIVE GAMBLING 
  1.10  GRANT.] 
  1.11     $175,000 each year of the biennium is appropriated from the 
  1.12  general fund to the commissioner of human services for the 
  1.13  purposes of a grant to a compulsive gambling council located in 
  1.14  St. Louis county.  The gambling council shall provide a 
  1.15  statewide compulsive gambling prevention and education project 
  1.16  for adolescents.  The unencumbered balance in the first year 
  1.17  does not cancel but is available for the second year.
