  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the metropolitan council; requiring the 
  1.3             council to build a permanent transit center in 
  1.4             Brooklyn Center. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [TRANSIT CENTER IN BROOKLYN CENTER.] 
  1.7      The metropolitan council must construct and maintain a 
  1.8   transit center in Brooklyn Center to service the area.  The 
  1.9   center must include adequate bathroom facilities, must be 
  1.10  climate controlled, must be off the street, and must have 
  1.11  on-site supervision.  The center must be located north of Bass 
  1.12  Lake Road, east of Shingle Creek Parkway, and west of marked 
  1.13  trunk highway 100 and must be completed and operational by June 
  1.14  1, 2004.
