A bill for an act
 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a grant to Simpson Housing
Services for a shelter facility in the city of Minneapolis.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SIMPSON HOUSING SERVICES.

new text begin $10,000,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of human services for a grant to Simpson Housing Services, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization, to construct a shelter facility in the city of Minneapolis. For the purposes of
this section, "shelter facility" means a facility having a primary purpose of providing a
temporary shelter for the homeless in general, or for a specific homeless population, and
does not require occupants to sign leases or occupancy agreements.
