  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education finance; authorizing a 
  1.3             facilities grant for independent school district No. 
  1.4             2580, East Central; appropriating money.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [FACILITIES GRANT; EAST CENTRAL.] 
  1.7      $15,000,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2001 from the 
  1.8   general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.9   learning for a facilities grant to independent school district 
  1.10  No. 2580, East Central.  The commissioner shall review the 
  1.11  proposed plan and budget of the project to be funded with this 
  1.12  grant and may reduce the amount of the grant to ensure that the 
  1.13  project will be economical.  The commissioner may recover the 
  1.14  cost incurred by the commissioner for any professional services 
  1.15  associated with the final review by reducing the amount of the 
  1.16  grant paid to a district. 
  1.17     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.18  following final enactment.
