  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the city of Fergus Falls; authorizing the 
  1.3             expenditure of certain tax increments. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [CITY OF FERGUS FALLS; EXPENDITURE OF TAX 
  1.6   INCREMENTS.] 
  1.7      The expenditure of tax increment from any of the tax 
  1.8   increment financing district numbers 1-1, 3-1, 4-1, 4-4, and 4-5 
  1.9   of the city of Fergus Falls before April 23, 1998, on any 
  1.10  activity or program for the district's project areas, as 
  1.11  amended, and the district's tax increment financing plan, as 
  1.12  amended, are approved and shall conclusively be deemed spent in 
  1.13  compliance with applicable law.  Expenditures of tax increment 
  1.14  from district numbers 3-1 and 4-1 may also be made after April 
  1.15  22, 1998, on any activity or program which is within the 
  1.16  applicable district's project area, as amended, and the 
  1.17  district's tax increment financing plan, as amended, whether or 
  1.18  not the expenditure is for an activity located within the 
  1.19  district, provided that the activity is located within the 
  1.20  city's downtown area designated as its development districts 
  1.21  numbers 2, 3, and 4. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.23     Section 1 is effective upon approval and compliance with 
  1.24  Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, subdivision 3, by the 
  2.1   governing body of the city of Fergus Falls.
