  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; authorizing program grants for 
  1.3             gifted and talented students; appropriating money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [GIFTED AND TALENTED GRANTS.] 
  1.6      The following sums are appropriated from the general fund 
  1.7   to the department of children, families, and learning in the 
  1.8   fiscal years designated for grants to provide gifted and 
  1.9   talented students with access to appropriate programs, 
  1.10  consistent with the requirements under Laws 1997, First Special 
  1.11  Session chapter 4, article 5, section 24: 
  1.12       $.,...,...     .....     2000 
  1.13       $.,...,...     .....     2001 
  1.14     Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is 
  1.15  available in the second year. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
