  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to families; appropriating money for 
  1.3             emergency assistance and transitional housing. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $10,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of children, families, and learning, to be 
  1.8   available until June 30, 2003.  Of this appropriation: 
  1.9      (1) $6,000,000 is for transitional housing programs under 
  1.10  Minnesota Statutes, section 119A.43; and 
  1.11     (2) $4,000,000 is for emergency services grants under Laws 
  1.12  1997, chapter 162, article 3, section 7. 
  1.13     This appropriation is in addition to any base 
  1.14  appropriations and TANF funding.
