  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to elections; changing limitation on the 
  1.3             exclusive use of a major political party name; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 202A.11, 
  1.5             subdivision 2. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 202A.11, 
  1.8   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2.  [RIGHT TO USE.] A major political party which has 
  1.10  adopted a party name is entitled to the exclusive use of that 
  1.11  name for the designation of its candidates on all ballots, and 
  1.12  no candidate of any other political party is entitled to have 
  1.13  printed on a ballot as a party designation any part of that name.
