  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to occupations; providing an exception for 
  1.3             barber shop registration fees; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 2000, section 154.10, subdivision 2.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 154.10, 
  1.7   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 2.  [CERTIFICATES OF REGISTRATION; FEES.] When the 
  1.9   provisions of this chapter have been complied with, the board 
  1.10  shall issue a certificate of registration as a registered 
  1.11  barber, as a registered apprentice, as a registered instructor 
  1.12  of barbering, or as a registered barber school, a temporary 
  1.13  apprentice permit, a temporary permit as an instructor of 
  1.14  barbering, or a shop registration card upon payment of the 
  1.15  required fee.  Certificates of registration, temporary permits, 
  1.16  and shop registration cards are not transferable.  The board 
  1.17  must charge only one shop registration fee for multiple shops 
  1.18  operated by one barber who is the sole barber in each shop.
