relating to agriculture; appropriating money for meat processing grants to address
the effects of COVID-19.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Meat processing grants. new text end

new text begin $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated
from the federal coronavirus relief fund to the commissioner of agriculture to expand the
state's meat processing capacity and alleviate the backlog of livestock in need of processing
due to the effects of COVID-19 by awarding cost-share grants to companies or individuals
that open or expand a mobile or stationary meat processing facility.

may not be spent until the commissioner of management and budget determines that the
expenditure is an eligible use of the federal coronavirus relief fund.
