  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; providing a rate increase 
  1.3             for a nursing home in Morrison county; appropriating 
  1.4             money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 
  1.5             256B.434, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 256B.434, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4c.  [FACILITY RATE INCREASES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 
  1.10  2002.] For the rate period beginning January 1, 2002, and for 
  1.11  the rate year beginning July 1, 2002, a nursing facility in 
  1.12  Morrison county licensed for 83 beds shall receive an increase 
  1.13  of $2.54 in each case mix payment rate to offset property tax 
  1.14  payments due as a result of the facility's conversion from 
  1.15  nonprofit to for-profit status.  The increases under this 
  1.16  subdivision shall be added following the determination under 
  1.17  this chapter of the payment rate for the rate year beginning 
  1.18  July 1, 2001, and shall be included in the facility's total 
  1.19  payment rates for the purposes of determining future rates under 
  1.20  this section or any other section. 
  1.21     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.22     $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.23  commissioner of human services for the purposes of section 1.  
  1.24  The appropriation is available until June 30, 2003.
