A bill for an act
relating to human services; modifying supplemental nutrition assistance program
asset limitations; instructing the revisor to update terminology; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2016, section 256D.0515.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 256D.0515, is amended to read:

determined eligible for the benefit discussed under section 256.029. deleted text begin Food stampdeleted text end new text begin SNAPnew text end
households must demonstrate thatnew text begin :

new text begin (1)new text end their gross income is equal to or less than 165 percent of the federal poverty guidelines
for the same family sizenew text begin ; and

new text begin (2) they meet the federal financial resource requirements under United States Code, title
7, section 2014(g), except that one licensed vehicle per household shall be excluded from
financial resource limitsnew text end .

In Minnesota Statutes and Minnesota Rules, the revisor of statutes shall change the terms
"food support," "food stamp," and "food stamps" to "supplemental nutrition assistance
program" or "SNAP" when appropriate. The revisor shall make any necessary technical and
grammatical changes to preserve the meaning of the text.
