A bill for an act
relating to taxation; property; exempting property owned and operated by a
veterans organization; amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 272.02, by
adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 272.02, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Real property owned and operated by an
organization of military service veterans or an auxiliary unit of an organization of military
service veterans is exempt if the organization or auxiliary unit is organized within
Minnesota and is exempt from federal taxation under section 501(c) of the Internal
Revenue Code.

new text begin This section is effective for taxes payable in 2012 and
thereafter.
