  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [DEFINITION OF FAMILY.] 
  1.6      Unless federal law prohibits, the definition of family as 
  1.7   used in programs administered by the state shall include 
  1.8   grandparents, grandchildren, all blood-related individuals, 
  1.9   stepchildren, stepparents, and life partners.
