  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; directing the department 
  1.3             of human services to develop a plan to distribute all 
  1.4             chemical dependency funding directly to the counties; 
  1.5             amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 254B.02, by 
  1.6             adding a subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 254B.02, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 6.  [DIRECT ALLOCATION TO COUNTIES.] By July 15, 
  1.11  2001, the commissioner, in consultation with the Minnesota 
  1.12  Association of County Social Service Agencies, shall develop and 
  1.13  implement a formula to distribute all the chemical dependency 
  1.14  funds appropriated for allocation directly to the counties.
